THE EXPERIENCE
Into the details.
We would suggest that clients arrive at least a day before their fishing charter in order to have time to acclimatise to the time difference and also to give us the opportunity to meet for a meal together (excellent restaurants in Port Blair), arrange our next day pick up and to give you a chance to see a little of the historical sites Port Blair has to offer.
We recommend that you spend a minimum of 7 nights on the boat in order to give us ample time to fish distant sea mounts - 10 days is a great amount of time for us to show you the optimum.
Charters are for a group of max 4 people in order that we can offer them the best time.
The following is a suggested Itinerary
for a minimum 6 day Charter:
Please note: this is a typical trip and there and can and normally will be variations due to weather or clients fish requirements, we always aim to please.
Times listed are Indian time, the daylight hours are the same as Phuket so we tend to work to the daylight rather than actual time when fishing.
Day / 1
Pick up from hotel 0600 for drop off at the jetty. Join Deja Blue for a safety, weather and boat briefing. Once out of port, we will start trolling normally 4 lines for Marlin which can be caught straight away. You may also catch Wahoo and Tuna.
We would normally head towards Barren Island which is 72 miles distant - fishing all the way. We cannot predict what you will catch but some of the biggest Marlin get caught on this route.
Arrive at Barren Island at around 1600 and here you will have the chance to fish around the island where there are Dogtooth Tuna and Wahoo to name a few.
Before sundown, we find our bottom fishing area for the night where many species can be caught, often some large unstoppable fish may take the bait.
Normally guests retired around 2200 ready for an early start the next day.
Day / 2
After a hearty breakfast, we will have another troll around the island before setting off to Narcondam another 72 miles away, fishing all the time. Here it is very deep and anything can happen.
At around 1600 we arrive at Narcondam for more trolling around the island and then find out spot for the night - again bottom fishing and some jigging.
Day / 3
After breakfast we will troll out to the seamount which 12 miles north of the Island and work the mount for Marlin which are known to hang around the edges of the mount, feeding on the many tunas in the area. We mostly fish lures but also natural baits.
Wahoo can be a nuisance here and like to destroy lures and baits, sometimes if clients choose, we can have a brief stop for jigging or electric reel deep dropping.
In the evening, we back to the Island to find our mark for the night.
Day / 4
Similar to day 3, or we may choose to fish another sea mount to the west of the Island.
If more than 6 days are chartered, we would then be around Narcondam for the extra days.
Day / 5
We will be travelling back to Barren Island, trolling all the way and arriving evening time for some trolling around the island and bottom fishing for the night.
Day / 6
Trolling around the Island before heading back to Port Blair where will arrive around 1700 for disembarkation and you will be taken to your hotel and give you time to relax, have a beer and reminisce about your trip over a meal!
Important Information and Must Haves:
There may be a $100 per person charge payable by clients for some national park fees and a joining boat fee.
The cost of the charter includes all food prepared on board by our cook, water and soft drinks, fishing equipment, bait etc.
Beer and Alcohol is not included but can be discussed prior to your trip but please note; we do not permit heavy drinking on board for obvious safety reasons.
The boat is fully insured and carries full safety equipment.
Please make sure you bring with you:
• Your Indian Visa (if needed)
• Sun Protection (high SPF advised)
• Camera
• Binoculars (if desired)
• Mobile phone (although internet very limited)
• Loose T-shirts (laundry can be done on board)
• Sun Hat
• All essential medications and for any medical condition
